Mrs. Anderson
has been a teacher at SJAS for over 30 years. She has taught 1st and
2nd
grade. Mrs. Anderson attended the College of St. Benedict, St.
Joseph, MN.
Mrs. Anderson
and her husband Dick have 4 children – Nate, Matt, Mary, and
Emily and 8 grandchildren. Mrs.
Anderson enjoys walking, sewing, crafting, and spending time with
family. She LOVES to collect
Children’s books! She has received the LEEA (Leadership in
Educational Excellence) Award and is listed as a Who’s Who
Among American Educators.
About the
Classroom
- In Science we learn the life cycle of animals and watch the process with butterflies, tabpoles, wax worms and meal worms
- We do a big unit on dinosaurs
- We work hard to prepare for Reconciliation and
First Holy Eucharist
- In Math, we learn addition and subtraction facts
to 18

- Home folders go home each day
- Class newsletter goes home on Friday
- 2nd graders read, test, and pass 100 AR
books
- Students should make 100 addition fast in three
minutes by December
- Students should make 100 subtraction facts in
three minutes by May
- Memorize the Act of Contrition Prayer
- We have Library once a week
