Parents are encouraged to volunteer and have ample opportunities to do so. Some of the opportunities include:

• Year Round - Lunchroom Helper, Playground Duty, Classroom Helper, Maintenance Helper, Scrapbook
• Fall - Walk-a-thon, Soup and Sandwich Supper, Eye and Ear Screening
• Winter - Cookie Bake, Spring Fundraiser, Christmas Program Make-Up, Staff Appreciation Lunch, and Family Dance
• Spring - Float for Foley Fun Days Parade, Picnic Day, Garage Sale

Volunteer help is a necessary part of a Catholic school. It helps build connections and helps to maintain the budget! Volunteers are sincerely appreciated and help at SJAS in a variety of ways.

Along with volunteering comes the responsibility to fill out three forms required by the Diocese of St. Cloud. Volunteers that work in the building on a regular basis will be asked to read the following and fill out and return the forms attached to each:

• Guidelines for Ethics and Integrity in Ministry
• Sexual Misconduct Policy
• Background Check

There is also a Safe Environment Video (approximately 20 minutes) that volunteer and staff are required to view annually. The ‘viewing’ will be announced in the weekly office newsletter.

All Catholic schools, parishes, and institutions in the Diocese of St. Cloud are required to follow this program which has been designed to foster safe environments.

When you arrive at school to volunteer during school hours, please stop at the office to sign in and to pick up your ‘Volunteer’ badge.
