Currently, students at St. John’s Area School have the opportunity to grow in five specialized areas. PE, Music, STREAM, Band/Choir, Wellness, and Art.
Physical Education: Phy-ed helps to develop the confidence and enjoyment of a lifetime of healthful physical activity in accordance with the MN K-12 Academic Standards for Physical Education. All students in Pre-K through grade 6 participate in Phy-ed classes.
Music: Students in grades K-6 explore various types of eras, music making, and songs. All students in grades Pre-K through grade 6 are involved and participate in the annual Christmas Program. Music class is taught in the portable classroom building between the school and church.
STREAM: (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) Students in K-6 learn keyboarding skills, online safety, code, work with robots, and explore engineering design concepts. STREAM class is taught in the portable classroom building between the school and church.
